August24-25,the National Natural Science Foundation Of Mathematics Tianyuan Foundation and Jilin University, Tianyuan Mathematics Northeast Center and Jilin University School of Mathematics jointly organized the "International Seminar on Uncertain Quantification Hot Issues" held at Jilin University Central Campus. The seminar was convened by Professor Jinshi of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Tang Tao of Southern University of Science and Technology, and was attended by nearly50experts and scholars from Universities at home and abroad, including Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Kent, Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, the University of Hong Kong and Monash University in Australia. Professor Li Huilai, Dean of the School of Mathematics of Jilin University, and Professor Li Yong, Director of the Institute of Mathematics, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Ran, deputy director of the Executive Committee of the National Tianyuan Mathematics Northeast Center.??????

Li Huilai delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, and on behalf of the Academy, he first congratulated the seminar on its success and warmly welcomed the participants. He introduced the advantages of talent in the Northeast region and the development of the university mathematics discipline, sincerely look forward to more young scholars to join the mathematics college, and constantly expand the teaching staff, for the college's discipline development into fresh blood, cohesion, pioneering and enterprising, jointly promote the rapid development of the college, for the school "double-class" construction to contribute.

In his speech, Tang Tao first thanked the experts and scholars for their attention and support for the study of "quantitative hot issues of uncertainty". He pointed out that Tianyuan Mathematics Northeast Center since its establishment, held a variety of unique academic activities, bright spots, remarkable results, the development of mathematics disciplines in the Northeast has played a good leading role. He hoped that the vast number of experts and scholars can further strengthen cooperation and exchanges, the introduction of excellent research results, improve the uncertainty quantitative research field in the overall research level in China. At the same time pay attention to the development of young talents, provide more support and help for young scholars, and provide inexhaustible impetus for the development of mathematics disciplines.

Through a series of summary reports and forward-edge progress reports, the seminar provides a platform for scholars in relevant fields in China to exchange information, so that researchers can understand the research results and hot spots of quantitative research of uncertainty at home and abroad in a comprehensive and timely manner, and actively promote the development of the field of quantitative research of uncertainty in China. The relevant research on uncertainty quantification has been solidified.
