课程介绍:

In this short course, I will discuss about the inverse problem, known as the Calderon problem, of determining the conductivity of an object from the voltage-to-current measurements on the whole boundary of the object. The questions we are trying to answer include whether the determination is unique and stable. Also, we will consider problems with data measured only on part of the boundary. Time permit, I will discuss the generalization of such problems to other equations of elliptic and non-elliptic types. In addition, we will consider the cases when unique determination fails and how such materials can be applied to realize cloaking.

导师介绍:

Zhou Ting is an associate professor at the Northeastern University in Boston. She received her PhD from the University of Washington and was a CLE Moore instructor in the math department at MIT from 2011 to 2014. Her research interests include applying the PDE theory and analysis in inverse problems arising in imaging and remote sensing. More specifically, Her research focus on determining, non-intrusively, various properties of electromagnetic, acoustic or elastic types from measurements of corresponding waves. The underlying PDEs the inverse problems are based on are diffusion equations, Schrodinger equations and Maxwell’s equations.
